Not Averse
‘To draw is to take a line for walk’
Paul Klee
‘Two Hard’, too hard.
School store supply;
Compass control;
Consistency straight-ruled.
Pacing for the exercise alone.
‘Hard Black’ appears as grey:
The universal, standard and
Unthinking choice
That makes all necessary marks.
Park-safe, the corgi does not even pull the lead
‘Two Black’ too black?—what sun beyond that shade;
With balanced clay and graphite,
Wrist responding to each thought
That strides in freedom on an edge
Between idea and infinite beyond.
